Her Sunday Finest....

Lap Dog has an older sister - in her mind she's also a lap dog but, in reality, she's a small dog stuck inside of a large dog body. Since she can't sleep under the covers, sit on the sofa, be carried around tucked under my arm, she has been provided a very special "girly" gift that Lap Dog doesn't have: so when she's greeting guests at home, or taking her walk on a Sunday afternoon, she puts on her bouquet for all the world to see

These are cotton knit roses glued onto a pretty pink collar, she knows it's special and when I place it on her neck to clip the clasp together, she sits down and stays very still, lap dog is there too, jumping around in delight, maybe someday I'll knit her tiny rose buds for her collar but truthfully, her neck is so tiny I would rather spend time knitting her new winter sweaters.

Have a great week ahead everyone - the baby boy blanket is finished so I'm starting the matching hat with pom poms - pictures to follow soon.....

P.S. never bought the new Sugar and Cream cotton, will power to use what I have is holding steady for the moment.

I love how she is sitting so tall and proud and she knows how lovely she looks with her jewelry on!!
I have a large dog who thinks she is a little lap dog too. (and a small dog who thinks he is a Rotty!:)

She is a sweetheart, a rescue when she was two years old, a family took her in and decided that they couldn't keep her due to their 2 year old jumping and throwing toys at her so we took her. She always sits like that, I think she knows she a beauty, my daughter calls her the "hall monitor" because she likes to be boss over the lap dog and kitty.

I hope one day you'll share a picture of your four legged family members...
