I've been thinking a lot lately about my grandmother.....she's been gone a long time now.
But she's never really left me....do you know what I mean?
I remember stories she told me of her life while growing up, the changes she saw during the 90+ years she was here....and I thought of these.
Calling cards....
her calling card.....
her friends calling cards she'd saved.....
the ladies would pay a visit to a friend or loved one (although, don't we love our friends too?)
in the event nobody was home - they would leave their calling cards on the porch or door to let them know they'd stopped by for a visit.....I love that concept.
I love calling cards - I love the fact that there was a time when people used them, I love the simplicity of them.
.....thank you for visiting with me today, in an "advanced world" you've left your calling card with me.
Let's pretend I've left my card on your porch door today, along with a summer bouquet....and a memory.

What lovely memories. Wouldn't it be fun to have calling cards again? I bet talented bloggers out there would create some fantastic ones!
I understand. I stop often and think, "Grandma would really love this!" I still buy her owls when I see one that reminds me of her.
