Peek.....or should I say peep????

I want to share a bit more of the postcard with you.....

See the other side??? It's a sweet Happy Easter card mailed back in 1909......

See the address???? Just the family name....the town....the state.....oops...you would see it if I had a macro.

No street, no address numbers.

I suppose everyone knew everyone else in Greenleaf....their family members....a bit of gossip?

She was special to someone to receive such a lovely card.

Interesting it's the small stuff that brings a bit of sunshine to the day....

Fast forward to 2011.....

I needed a new key....I went to the hardward store to have a copy made.....I had planned on buying the common silver version that would match every other key I've ever owned on any key chain I've ever carried.

I changed it up a bit....I wanted something light hearted...something that would stand out on the ring...something I would see while digging in the depths of my oversized handbag (remember the cool bag I splurged on buying in Italy??? The first and ONLY good purse I've ever owned)

Guess what......I found NEMO, he's been missing and now he'll live with me....and I smile each and every time I look down and see his little smile as he goes in and out of the door lock.
Silly I know....stupid silly...... but these days in life I look to simple, an ice cream cone.....a new knit hat pattern...a grilled cheese sandwich......

I highly recommend you buying yourself a fun key....any key that you use on a regular basis.
It won't break the piggy bank and you might be surprised the effect.

I planted this weekend.....spent time with friends.....spent time with family....spent time with a puppy...(I highly recommend this activity)......ate a great pizza Man In Black prepared......watched a good movie......assisted with the knitting of a hat for The Hawaiian Bag Knitter..................helped a new blogger to enter blogland and flickrville......

See you tomorrow friends....I have an apple pie recipe to share baked in an iron skillet!!! YUM.....
I'm bouncing over to read your blogs to see what you've been up to lately.....I lost a follower today:-(
I suppose "simple pleasures" may be a bit dull for some....oh well, can't please 'em all.....
See you soon....I've got to go water my tomatoes....it's still hot here...and the street construction continues...

The lost art of snail mail. When I was studying in London in 1988, I wrote a weekly letter or card to my mum back home. And I looked forward to receiving her letters written in her old fashioned script. That was before email :)
Nowadays, I only receive bills and promotional materials in the mail. So I don't even bother to look in the mailbox because there's nothing really to look forward to in there :(

What a beautiful postcard!
I am seriously in awe of your key.
I have never seen anything like that and am not even sure if they have anything like that in the state of Idaho anywhere!
I did not know a person could put NEMO on a key!
You just opened up a whole new world to me!
Have a great day!

I miss snail mail, seems only bills and junk ads come in the mail box these days, kinda sad. BUT always super fun when yarn or books come, gotta love that.

Okay the key is a blast! What a fun idea that is. I just read through and caught up on your blog... Macro hahaaaaa i love that you are throwing the lingo out, YOU are so awesome! Are you thinking of getting a Macro lense? What new groups are you in? I have a lot of catching up to do now that the markets are settling down a bit. Love the pics of the lake too. Looks like lots of good stuff this summer for you guys.

Hugs Jen

I love that key! I'll have to check out our hardware store to see if they have anything like that. Highly doubtful, based on where I live! :)
