it started with .....

friday nights chinese dinner out with mom...it was good...
it's a hit or miss sometimes with these types of restaurants,
this one has been there many years so that's always a good start to the meal
then home to relax and watch t.v.....let the weekend begin

saturday a.m. didn't include any garage sale shopping, instead a early morning walk with a neighbor -
a morning vet appointment for the dogs to get their shots.....
the afternoon spending "home time"... music filling the house, doors and windows open, Man In Black busy working in his workshop creating his next masterpiece (he's building a new coffee table out of recycled materials)...he has a reputation of creating really cool stuff.
I sat on the floor surrounded by every skein, partial skein, bits and pieces of skeins in my yarn room for hours,
organizing, winding, untangling, reshelfing colors, textures, books, needles.....

Man In Black popped his head in several hours later and asked "have you been in here the whole time?"

It was quality time spent in my little room....did I finish?
Nope...it's still a bit messy - to the average person...but to my eye...

the hidden bags of yarn were uncovered from the closets
the under the bed storage container came down from the attic
the cottons for the rag rug are organized
the sport weigh is numbered and ready
the debbie bliss for newborns are wound
the alpaca blanket yarns are packaged and waiting
the bits and pieces are gathered for the charity hats for that extra bit of whimsy and fun
the special project "in process" to be included with the book for zoe when she's three is safely wrapped

new patterns have been purchased off the internet and printed.....for all those small knits for 2013 that are planned for the holiday gift giving season

a special dinner invitation from new family in-laws....a wonderful meal that included laughing.....the deep hearty laughing that I haven't done for a very long time - it felt good.

the swap meet purchase that my buddy Michelle pointed out (love your sharp eye to spot this gem)
I'll remember that day and think of you as I continue to enjoy this perfect solution to a minor dilemma

I love that window....the chickens painted are a bonus because I love chickens but the fact it came to me through time spent with friends enjoying a weekend together was most special to me.

I did a bit of planting....Man In Black had an extra wheelbarrow....it's been claimed as an herb garden
I baked.....Man In Black spent some time with the grill.....

the lemon bars...a total disaster....too much lemon juice and runny...

well, not a problem...the backyard tree has no shortage of lemons so there'll be another pan

the latest knitting....well, I'm not jumping in joy....I scrapped the idea to add a little hat...
I'm not sure what the issue was (except that I fly by the seat of my pants and waste time and yarn not bothering to check gauge)....so why am I bothered when half my projects are pitiful?

the nice thing about knitting for babies....they're crinkled up into little bundles so if someone asks "what's wrong with your babies arms?" the mommy can answer, "nothing, it's the wonky knitted sweater this woman made that makes my babies shoulders look disjointed"

enjoy your week...I'm working on a stash buster baby blanket...
someone will ask the mommy "why are your babies legs so long?"...
she can answer "they're not, the knitter just ran out of "buster yarn" ...
or I can add eyelash when the cottons gone.....someone tell me again why I ever bought eyelash yarn

need a lemon or two?

wheelbarrow planting...
with a bit of ceramic 'n granite as decoration

I wanted something to block the neighbors window...
I asked for a tree but MIB puts the brakes on that plan...
instead a recycled window hung outside from the trellis does the trick

A special homemade gift from a friend....
vanilla added to my cookies adds that "love" ingredient
so thoughtful Sue...so special

a bit of grill prep for dinner

All done and ready for the market
i hoped an outside photo would
fix the wonkiness..
it didn't
either did the garden view

M & M cookies....buttery 'n fattening....
they'll be going on MIB's waistline
I hit the popcicle box

see you soon

Love the photos, especially the grilled chicken! And I'm trying not to look at the m&m cookies, because they make me greedy and I've already had dinner.
You've been busy with knitting, the market bag looks good, I like the yarn. The baby cardi looks especially cute in the garden. Your flowers are amazing! I wish I had green fingers but I don't. I kill plants effortlessly.

Love the pics! The market bag is so cool, as is the wheelbarrow garden. And we ALL bought eyelash yarn! I finally got rid of some recently...

I don't know what to do with the eyelash yarn in my stash either! I'm told it's coming back though. ;)
Love the wheelbarrow garden, how perfect.
And BTW, I'm visiting MA from OR, so missing my furkids a lot. Pets to Annie, lap dog supreme

You crack me up.
I know what you mean about knitting.
I always try to tell myself that they will just appreciate that someone took the time to make them something homemade...right?
Love all your pics.
Beautiful lemons!
Yummy cookies, pretty chicky window and all the pretty flowers!
Happy Tuesday, Friend!

The wonky sweater is just too cute. Love the pattern, love the yarn, love the buttons. And the painted window as a view blocker is genius!

I am so glad you shared your wheelbarrow planter, just yesterday I realized my old one is done and I thought, 'what can I do with it'..and you have the answer, thanks! - Cute idea with your chicken window, doesn't block it all out but just enough. - Lucky you with a lemon tree, I visited Southern Calif. once when they were in blossom, I will never forget the intoxicating fragrance, wow! xo
