curbside shopping

Last weekend our neighbors kicked off the summer officially by starting the season with a backyard party...

we keep it going by another neighbor each offering a party at their home through the summer months...

June is our month....and it's going to include this....

as the saying goes..."one man's trash..is one woman's treasure"

the color to be painted?.... some suggest white, others black...?

A bit rough around the edges

it's cozy small ...
with the possibility someone over 40 pounds will land with
their bottoms on the pavers

they think the new chair is just fine the way it is
...do you now have a treasure that was once "one man's trash"?

...or did it make a return trip to the curb?

I would be thrilled to find that, I may even have paid for it. - I can see it painted a very, very light, washed out powder pink and maybe not covering completely.

Have a great weekend. xo

That is an awesome find! I would paint it white or what Sherri B suggested, can't wait to see what you do.

Oh, I say go for a BRIGHT RED! That will make a statement!!

I want those little critters to come visit me.

And, I do enjoy cottage cheese, just not mixed with fruit. Those two shall remain separate!

It is gorgeous, paint it something really exciting like orange or vivid green. Get some flashy cushions and you are all set.

I love the loveseat! I was thinking like a Charleston Green and I love Meredith's idea of a bright cushion and a few pillows!

I have not had much luck sidewalk shopping my youngest however brought home a tiger painted on velvet with a gold frame...its large (and ugly). It is vacationing in our storage shed. I keep trying to get her to take it to her home but for some reason she refuses!

Oh, my goodness, My father was always bringing home something that someone threw away, chairs, bookshelves and boxes of antique books.
Lots and Lots of treasures:)
I think the chair should be painted a nice cheery turquoise...but then again I think everything should be painted that color;)

I think a very light mossy green would be pretty, but then again that's MY backyard color scheme...tee-hee-hee!

That would be my kind of find! Dan though, doesn't like wicker so there'd be no way. :) Love the hedgehogs!

Love it--my husband, alas, frowns on my dragging curb treasures home, though we once did find a broken-down drafting table that we fixed up and turned into a sort of plant stand. I had a friend in L.A. who cruised Beverly Hills alleys on trash day and furnished his entire apartment with what he found!
