Dinner Date

married a few decades now..

our conversations are limited...

and Man In Black was never one to talk much to begin with so you can get where I'm going with this...

so we've gotten into a routine during the week....

I walk in the door, say hello and pretty much coast through the rest of the evening without saying enough words to fill even half of a scrabble board game,,

so on occasion, random, no particular date or month....one of us will call the other and set up a dinner meeting place about an hour before leaving work and heading home - we meet for dinner..

..gab, gab, gab, like we haven't talked in a couple of weeks...

sometimes when you get home at night....well, you just don't feel like talking.

we enjoy a nice meal, talk about things that weren't mentioned during the week...finish the dinner and head home in separate cars...

arriving home about the same time...we return to the routine of evening tasks - in a comfortable familiar silence

it works for us...thirty three years married and counting...

a bonus to this random date night ...I order really great meals...

look at what I had to eat while catching up on recent events

A HAWAIIAN MARTINI HERE......OH SO PRETTY
icy cold...sooo sweet
goes down way too easy

A THAI CHICKEN SALAD WITH SOFT NOODLES HERE.......OH SO GOOD
soft noodles....'n blackened chicken
first time I've had a salad like this
fresh and oh so good

our favorite topic to discuss....

our granddaughter Zoe, this month she turned one year old in a field of flowers in Tuscany, Italy...

is she a lucky baby?

my knitting continues...her summer blanket is underway....
to be held in her little hands....

while she plays in Sicily with her parents....
