but since the temps were 118 yesterday at the lake...
the dogs requested we wait until it cools to a respectable 108....
I've agreed....unless you plan to spend the entire weekend under water....118 feels like you're literally a roasting chicken..
until then, I'll post a few pics from other days spent there to help get me geared up for the "bakefest" of summer on Lake Havasu
We eat well on the water..... |
I've been known to knit in extreme heat..... don't ask me why..... you'd think being on the water would be soothing enough |
Note to self: Must get calendar out and plan a trip with Dutch Girl and Gang
enjoy your day, stay cool....drink lemonade....(with raspberry vodka is optional)...but so good over ice on a warm summer evening
see you soon friends..off to earn a dollar.

That is really HOT! I am a year round knitter or crocheter. I find it funny when people up north don't want to play with yarn when it is warm out, really? i live in Florida so it is blasting hot half the year, makes no difference to me, yarn is always in my hands.
Hugs,
Meredith
When it's this hot, I can't get motivated to do anything, so I admire that you can knit. Yesterday afternoon, instead of doing anything productive, my daughter and I watched "The Help". Hopefully this heat won't last too much longer or else I'm going to become a couch potato!
are you trying to tease us now!?!?! o man...you don't know how badly we wish to be wading in those cool lake waters with you all...the salads look so good!

Holy cow!
Okay, DO NOT go to my blog and read my whiny post about the heat.
You will shame me.
That water looks awesome.
Is the raspberry vodka in the lemonade your secret for staying cool?
I just might have to try that:)
I can not even imagine heat like that. I can barely type just thinking about it. - The water is a beautiful color at the lake. Please try and stay cool..ugh.. xo
I think I'd wait til it cools down a bit there too...but our neighbors just left for the river...I prefer Spring there! Enjoy!!
I want to be at that party where everyone is standing in the shade. Ahhhh.
I think it's great that you take your knitting everywhere. It's your personal little prozac, just not in pill form!!
I do enjoy raspberry vodka. It's so refreshing! I have friends telling me about a honeysuckle vodka. They swear it's to die for. I'm a bit skeptical.
Stay cool!
We're thinking about heading out there soon but it is roasting here already over 100 for the week and i'm barely hanging on so 118 would do me in for sure..... pics are wonderful, great memories. Still hoping to see you guys soon.
