Over Ice Please

Steve 'n I........we've been enjoying a great weekend

a bit of margarita drinking

with chips and salsa

served along side enormous burritos
(he ate all his....I left half on my plate and dove back in for more chips 'n salsa)

there was flower plantin' going on

candy making....divinity....Steve was delighted and said "it's been years...I love that stuff"

last week it was a few deviled eggs...this week divinity...hum??? what shall next week's treat be?

 and lemon sheet cake baking

and harvesting my bounty.....ok, so not a great deal of harvesting but keep in mind...
I've been given the area by the side door on the house with the dryer vent and 5 clay pots...
Steve thinks I'm a messy gardener...there's some truth to that....I'm also a messy cook...

my sister-in-law (dutch girl) is often surprising me with treasures she's found while "thrifting"...

lemon cake tastes even sweeter when enjoyed from a lovely little plate gifted to me by D.G.

all under the ever present eyes of dogs.....they don't bark much...but I'm almost certain Margo now whines..."Mama Mia" when she's hoping for a snack

The miscellaneous cotton stash has been reduced beautifully due to all the dishcloth knitting going on over here.....

Mom grabbed a couple, Heather will be finding something waiting in her mailbox...Pam will be wiping her fingers with one to remove the beef jerky from her fingertips in a couple of weeks..

I have more that missed out on the photo session....they seem to be appearing in every room of the house:-)

if you'd like a dishcloth to color your sink bubbles this summer...I'd be more than happy to send you one...
drop me your address and my favorite mail carrier Patty will send it jiffy quick and before long....you'll open your mailbox...and find a dishcloth all ready to scrub your china....

enjoy your week...
happy 4th if you're not stopping by Lap Dog before the holiday..
and if' you're like me...

and going to work this week...and staying home on the 4th...
well then, I'll be seeing you again shortly....stay cool....

Boo for midweek holidays.

I would like to sip margaritas and eat chips with you.

And then I'd wash up the dishes with your colorful dish rags.

I bet I would smile the whole time. If I brought my husband, it would be so confusing, as he is named Steven.

How are the doggies?

I am so excited...Please send me one of your dishcloths! How fun will it be to think of you while in the kitchen (which, feels like I am always in)! - I would love the pattern, if you would point me in the right direction (link).

Down to the serious question..The divinity. My hubby had an aunt in Indiana, that always made it and so...you know the rest of 'that' story. I have been seeking candy establishments that have that 'right' one. This one looks like the one he describes. Only problem, most of the recipes say, don't even try it on a rainy day...hahahaha! It doesn't have to be raining in the PNW to have the humidiy be that high. But I will try your recipe if you would be willing to part with it.

Thank you my dear friend! xo

I will email my address.

Love everything here--the Mexican food, the dishcloths (they are so pretty!), the tomatoes. And divinity: so reminds me of my grandma, a candy maker/pie baker extraordinaire. She made just killer fudge and divinity and caramels. Ah, sweet memories...and now I am hungry!
