the hours fly by so much faster on Saturdays and Sundays then the Monday's thru Friday's...
have you noticed that too?
a busy weekend for family and friends who worked on a very special project (I can share with you a bit later down the road) - this will be for a new chapter in the lives of Team Sicily when they arrive home..
very impressive...
I stayed behind rather than joining "the very special project" and spent time doing a bit of this and a bit of that.....and time with my Mom....
this is also a new chapter for me in my life....one that can be expected.....one that I've never wanted to experience....
my Mom is aging...and in this process....slipping away.....it's to be expected....but I don't want it to happen...I don't want to be aware of it....I want her to stay the same....my Mom...always and forever my Mom....the rolls in our relationship are changing...I know that there is no way I could ever love her more than she has always loved me....in this roll I will fail.....I will fail beyond measure.
it's a part of life's changes if we're given the gift of years....
many wonderful years...hopefully more to come...
but it's not going to be like before....life changes....this is another chapter I'll need to find my way through....
and as I do...Mom will eat cheescake....because she's at a point in her life where "Doctor" has ordered calories...lots and lots of calories....so my dear Mother can eat cheescake every day for the rest of her life....Doctor's orders....we're currently working on the entire variety list and "seasonal favorites" from The Cheesecake Factory...as of today's date - I've yet to have a doctor tell me to eat cheesecake, daily or otherwise - so I've been ordering "for one" and doing a bit of drooling while they pile on the whipped cream....a daily sweet for the dearest sweetest woman I will ever know -

I wish we were closer, I could easily help your mom with eating lots and lots of calories.
I am so sorry that you are going through this. My mom died too early for me to go through it with her, but I have watched my grandma age. She's done it gracefully, but boy do I miss that lady who always took such good care of me.
Sending you love and hugs and cheesecake. xxx
Oh, bless her. Isn't it weird how we can ignore ageing all around us until it's our loved ones? Then it hits home. It sounds as if the two of you have a lovely time together--and you should sneak just one or two bites now and then!
