a birthday party...
time spent with Mom....
gift shopping and marketing.....
not enough hours allowing for all life had to offer...
I missed out on a special time that would have been just for me...
an invitation....
meeting of new friends....
I've been told there will come another party...
another day...
sometimes life just goes that way......
if only could it could have held just a few more hours.....
Zoe's busy little life included her birthday party, time with family and friends....

and her first walk down the aisle....as a flower girl...
she came home wilted and cranky...
so like every wise Grandmother out there...
I dressed her quick in mismatching pajamas and plunked her in the stroller for an evening walk with a peanut butter sandwich to wind down the day.....
she'd look up to me saying "to you, to you"....
I knew she wanted to hear again that song sung many times to her over the weekend, so I pushed the stroller and sang out loud "happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Zoe, happy birthday to you"....
this is our special time together.....just me and Zoe....we know each other now...
I know her moods and what she wants and she's getting to know her Nana.....
soon the sandwich was gone with only traces of crumbs stuck on her cheeks ...
a crib waiting to take her off to slumberland when we returned...
this morning brought with it rain showers....
my favorite kind of day...
with the windows open...
the cat on the sill with folds of fur covering well over the width of the ledge...
I'll begin another day.....enjoy your's friends...
