local living...

lately I been spending far too much time thinking the grass would be greener elsewhere....

forgetting that it's nice to just enjoy your own backyard.....

so off came the top....

and out came the Jeep keys....

and the next handful of hours were spent reminding myself.....

sometimes...there's no place like home

since it was nearly noon when the day began....we had a slow start to the day.....with the top and all..

food was first on the list...a sandwich would be a perfect picnic meal

next stop; a restful location...

to a place where our earliest memories as a couple began...

a short walk through a few Oaks and Sycamores... a table was waiting..

near the parked Jeep a couple enjoyed a nap after dining alfresco....

we had other ideas...

so after securing my wide brimmed hat and tucking in my summer party dress...

we were then off to the place that many years ago I said to Steve,
"one day...we're going to own a Jeep and drive here and have the  top off"

we repeated that conversation while we drove.....so grateful for the years we've shared together

there was sidewalk window shopping....people watching.....talk of sunshine vs. overcast skies from the shop owners...tourists (us included) all enjoying beautiful Laguna Beach....

bare feet in the sand, seashell collecting...and washing...distant conversations from "the old dudes" on longboards while the younger risk takers enjoyed riding the swells nearer the rocks...

and later...as we drove home...

Steve rolled to a stop on a red light....and heard a soft woof

if he could talk????

I would expect he'd  was saying "hey, you look like fun loving dog people.....
what'd ya have?? about two?? three pups at home???" And we'd answer, "no, four dogs"....

and I think he would have jumped right into the Jeep and come along home with us...

It sounds like a perfect day, and you live in such a beautiful location, why would you think the grass is greener? Love the photo of the dog.
