First off, I have to declare that I'm married to the NICEST guy ever.....ever....

today was my last chance to wrap up loose ends on getting Ariel packed for the camping trip later this week... odds n' ends....important stuff like heaters and flashlights and finding a heavy blanket.....

I can honestly say the man will bleed for me in getting me 100% road ready....

while installing a new "wheel - hitch - tow thingy" so I can hitch/move/unhitch all alone he sliced his hand leaving a trail of blood on the steel wheel/hitch/tow gadget.....thankfully no stitches were required but hours later it was still a painful reminder of his days activities....

so that makes him a great guy...but what makes him amazingly nice????

he asked if I wanted him to follow me up to the "Sisters" event..... "just to make sure I get there"

how nice is that?  how sweet and thoughtful for him to drive five hours in my shadow just to make sure my trip is a success...and then what?...turn around and drive back home?.....he would have.....
over the top sweet and thoughtful...

I told him "no thank you....it's important I do this alone".....
although truthfully, I'm not really going alone...

there'll be five others all meeting in different locations until we're all together to complete the journey to the ranch...

but since I'll be alone in the truck.... that qualifies as traveling alone in my book....even if I will be tailgating Karmen so I don't get lost....

Mom and I didn't see a movie this weekend .....

instead...
dinner and breakfast at two new local restaurants.....
plans discussed for an over-the-top Christmas decorating party and sleepover
and a surprised flavored coffee latte she'd never tasted....

while Mom woke briefly in the morning to discover the clocks had been rolled back an hour she happily decided more time in bed was desired and I went home to be greeted by another early riser.....

since the kitchen was lit with warm morning sun rays I miss being gone to work at that hour of the day....

I hurriedly brought out the mixing bowls and measuring spoons....

Zoe eagerly agreed to "cooking" with Nana..."baking" with dark chocolate chips sounded like the perfect ingredient to begin the day....

spending time in the early morning hours of a kitchen is one of my favorite activities....

Zoe took home her first batch of cookies..... and with requests from Mommy and Daddy....
reluctantly shared her dark chocolate chip cookies.....

I might be able to find you a down blanket by Thursday. What size do you want?
