light scarf mornings....

it's been wonderful having the weather change....

for us living in the mild area of Southern California it's a big deal.....

today was a cool 60 degrees and mall shoppers were all decked out in scarves and boots....

it won't last long so most of us enjoy several wardrobe changes over the course of a day...

brown boots and cowls by morning....black boots and gloves at dusk.....

somewhere midday?.....a cute knit slouchy....

and then it's back to tee shirts, flip flops and weather Kenny Chesney writes about in songs....

I'll be winding these skeins this weekend and casting on a nice sized lap blanket just for me...

I say that because The Cat and Annie have claimed the two t.v.watching throws currently on the sofa....and because I love the softness of alpaca and don't want to share it only to become snagged with kitty claws kneading the softness and puppy hair mixed in to my lovely winter white & black spun perfection.....the pets are drawn like bees to the hive when I cover myself with natural fibers....

the weekend activities???

the market...
the mall...
the lumber mill...

all in preparations for this months events....

holiday eating, gift giving and chicks moving out into world where scary creatures lurk after dark.....

I hardly sleep well now fretting throughout the night if they are too cold in the kitchen .... hearing soft peeps off and on as they snuggle together ...how will I ever sleep through a night with them outside ?

a baby monitor....that'll do the trick.... and I said I wasn't going to get overly emotional about birds....

I should have known better since there's a dead wild bird buried in the backyard in a candy box....

I saw a $3 baby monitor bagged up in a gallon size baggie at the Zion Thrift Shop on Commonwealth last Saturday! It was in the baby section. Might still be there. You might want to bring along a couple of AA batteries to test it out.

Of course you have become attached, you would be you if you hadn't!
Hugs and get some sleep,
