it's early and still dark outside...
the dog is curled and buried deep beneath the covers...
the rain is collecting and a steady stream runs from the gutters..
it's too dark to see the drops hitting the birdbaths and jacuzzi but I know it's a beautiful sight...
the hens are awake and waiting for the coop door to swing open...
they'll greet the new day with skepticism after marching down the ramp to a coop soon covered with mud...

as much as I would love to stay home....
I don't use the weather as a reason or excuse not to do the job I was hired for...
if I did....than someone else deserves my desk....
office attire - relaxed, dressed more for a day in the mountains....
clock watching....wishing to be anywhere but at a desk...
come payday...knowing I earned my dollars instead of at the expense of others who did their job ....
why are there people who can't figure that out???

the weekend....?
hopefully without this continued cold and sore throat...
there's a bathroom remodel finally underway....
and a tree still waiting to be decorated...
