Weekend Fun

Hello!!! Had a great time at the lake, time spent with good friends, food, drinks, a quick dip in the cold water in the lake - July should be perfect for swimming...
Here's a picture of the market bag I had told you I was making as part of a shower gift, the gifts are all "green" Earth friendly...

Started a new project during the drive to the lake - five skeins of cotton for a large market bag - I think too big now, new purpose will be for holding beach towels on the boat or dirty laundry from the weekend, not sure which yet.

Loved the food platter - I've had this plastic tray for a couple of years now and finally put it to good use. Different cheeses, meats, olives, grapes, wine and cello, it seemed like such a treat eating this stuff, why don't I do this more often? Days of "saving for a special occasion" are over, every day is a special occasion, bring on the china, the wine glasses, prime rib, white cloth napkins, hadley pottery, all the hadley pottery, every cup, bowl, plate....the chili pot that is no longer available, the dust is coming off and chili is going inside, now I just need some people around the table to eat it (my daughter won't eat beef or chicken and the son is off in the world doing his own thing - leaving his parents wondering?? Hey, if you're reading this call home sometime)Not to worry, we have friends that will gladly join in a bowl of chili and a cold beer.

Here's the progress of the oversized bag...the pattern called for C.O. 40, so I thought 40 is good - 120 is better // Yikes!! I think I may be able to fit in this bag when it's done. Oh well, it will forever be my Weekend Fun bag knit while visiting with friends, enjoying the afternoon sitting lakeside. Who knew that cotton string and two sticks would give back a useable item with memories attached for a life time? I only regret I didn't learn to knit earlier, what other "items" would I have made with memories attached with each stitch?

Have a great week, something black and white will be posted tomorrow - no, not the newpaper....

Hi Kyle:

I was just checking in because I love to see your projects and dream that...someday, yes....someday, I'll be THAT creative!

I had to comment on the "weekend fun" post as you made a comment about "the days of saving for a special occasion": I love that sentiment! You're exactly right! EVERY DAY is a special occasion and we should all jump for joy and clink our cello glasses in gratitude!!!
