In progress.....

Thought I'd share a picture of my next hat in progress....I've ripped it back a couple of times but like they say "third times the charm". It's pattern is based on an architectural structure someone saw at the Botanical Gardens in Chicago, it was passed along to me. I'm using two skeins of Cascade 220 and was told I'd be able to make two hats from that amount of yarn so we'll see, I tend to knit loose and I'll have to swap the color combination for two hats.

Also, my last Loop Scarf. I had to see what one looks like in Noro....it's a thin cotton variety and I can't find the rest of the skein from my stash so this may remain UFO for a short time.

Friday night favorite dinner - one Lemon Drop Martini and Lettuce Wraps from Zings restaurant.
Note the chop sticks....never used a fork the entire meal.  I think I should use chopsticks all the time, I tend to use a fork much like a backhoe scoop and shovel large amounts of food into my mouth and finish first around the table. Man in Black has asked me on more than one occasion if I even chew my food....he's such a dear man and so complimentary too. (I do tend to inhale my food-need to work on that)
Anyway, I have to say I actually enjoyed my meal more due to concentrating on the chopsticks not coming apart and the food falling in my lap.

I'm on my way to Los Angeles tomorrow.....I have my shopping list and patterns ready. I'm on the hunt for unusual yarns, and any others that says to me "no, you don't need me or have a pattern in mind but you know you want me anyway". It's always a costly experience but it's great mental therapy and I seldom have buyers remorse.

Ya know what I do find difficult? Ravelry.....it leaves me frustrated. So many great patterns, pictures of finished projects knit by others, there are so many great knitters in the world and I get overwhelmed by the talent.  Also, this place I keep reading about - Rhinebeck.....do I need to buy a plane ticket? Do I need to make sure I add this to my bucket list? I'm thinking I do....I'm thinking I need to get a group of knitting peeps from my side of the country and see what it's all about.... any knitting groups out there that take over an entire 747 aircraft heading East? If I checked with the Auto Club's travel department would they have a Rhinebeck Brochure? How cool would that be????

See you tomorrow with my new purchases.....I'm doing my part to keep the United States economy moving and sheep farmers everywhere in business....

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Your comments were so kind! :) Love your loops scarves that you've been making. :)

Ravelry can be overwhelming! I feel that way when I think of all I'll never knit!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Hi - I'm a new reader (and blogger). I feel the same way about Rhinebeck. I'm a bit closer (central Canada) but it's not going to be doable for this knitter until her babes are a bit older!

Ravelry, on the other hand, that I love. I'm never sure about what type of yarn to use so I always check out a pattern on there before I put it on the needles. At least there's some feedback from those who have walked before me.

Good luck with the hat - can't wait to see it finished!

As always you are so funny and your knits are awesome and beautiful! I also can't wait to see the finished hat. Usually 3rd tries do work out, so they say anyways. How great would that be if we could make it to Rhinebeck one year I also have been wanting to make it to the New Mexico wool festival. That ones a bit closer what do you think?
