Bandana Madness.....

Well,,,,,from the looks of the lack of response there doesn't appear to be many boiled peanut cookers out there...maybe I belong to a small club? or maybe I'm a club of one? Now that wouldn't be a first...!

I'm going to go ahead and boil them, pack 'em up and hit the road....we're going on a trip next weekend,
I'm humming "on the road again" by Willie Nelson a lot lately.....I'm thinking at this point I should learn all the correct lyrics instead of making them up inside my head while humming....

I need to check the ol' wardrobe too....it's hot in Northern California in July and a summer skirt would be just the ticket.
These are the times I wish I enjoyed sewing - or that my Mom would sew, or daughter....or my neighbor who died several years back (she was glued to her machine) was still around....
Certainly there must be women who stay home who would like to earn some extra cash and sew for dopes like me that want all the cute stuff but have zero in the talent department with a sewing machine?

Well, I don't know of anyone so I'm busting out the Singer again - I want to make some pillowcases and pendants...how hard can that be? The pillowcases are for me....the pendants? Well, not sure on that one but I know I want one (super cute colors....I'll show you tonight after I go buy them today at lunch) and if it turns out half way cute I'm sure the Sicily kids will put it to good use at their next barbeque....
I'm thinking maybe two....one for the awning on the boat at the lake....another for the front split rail fence out in the front yard - that would make it three pendants needed...see how my mind works?
It's sooooo annoying.

Most people are happy making one project and be satisfied....I don't even like to sew and so far I'm thinking I should have three pendants!!! I do this with tableclothes too....I remember shopping at  The Little Traveler (GREAT store in Geneva, Ill.) and buying three because I wanted one in every color available.

Okay, I only did that once thankfully, and still have all three - never use them anymore (not sure why) but they remind me of time spent with my Grandma and shopping at my favorite store. Maybe I should cut them up and make pendants? Recycle...Repurpose....?

Nope, I've found something better....got the idea from Michael at Inspired By Charm...love that guy!!!
Check out his blog...he's so talented and fun, I hope he'll keep his B&B for another 20 years to give me time to be a guest, he's not right around the corner from California and I don't see a trip in the near future.

I've found the bandanas in a BUNCH of colors and now I'm thinking a huge summer quilt for Zoe??? Placemats and Pendants together??? Yikes,,see what I mean? My mind goes WAY beyond my abilities....I find these cute bandanas for a buck and it turns into a quilt....and you know I'm going to buy one in EVERY color available....it's the tableclothes all over again!!!!
I really need to find someone who loves to sew - I just wish it was me.

Yay for sewing projects. Simple ones are very self gratifying. It is so much faster than knitting!!!

Yup, and I've got a great friend who is the "voice of reason" and she's advised I go with a summer throw blanket instead of the pendants...thankgoodness for level thinkers!

Hello from Orlando!! Hot, humid, rains (often with thunder/lightning) every afternoon, everything is green because of all the rain. Couldn't be more different from S. CA! Fireworks every night around 9 PM, so I feel right at home in my hotel! Hope we get to talk before your trip this weekend...
