Clang...Clang...Clang....

I'm feeling a bit like I live in a constuction site these days

for weeks now the town I live in has been working on our streets....digging, pouring concrete....removing concrete....pouring again

jockeying semi trucks back and forth...ding ding ding....backwards....rumble rumble rumble....forward......

the workers are slow.....

really slow.....

one was spotted (no camera shot unfortunately) sitting inside a wheelbarrow while his coworker chatted on his cell phone.....

I see this as a sign of our times.....if you have a job....you are in no hurry to complete it because there may not be another one down the pipe line when the current one is finished.
Not great work ethics, but it's a fact...also the sign of our economic times.

Do I mind the constant construction? Not really, when I arrive home in the late afternoon the semi's are gone, the streets are quiet, everything is still, the only thing left is bumpy dirt....

it's my brief moment of pretending that my current oversized beast of a vehicle is rumbling down a dirt country road taking me home - I hope they never finish.....

It's a good thing you're not home, because I would think that the sounds of construction would get a little annoying after awhile! I bet the street is going to look so nice afterwards. In the meantime, enjoy living like Green Acres! :)

Nice photos! I light the bright yellow construction light :)

At least they are completing the work in summer. When country roads get wet, they get muddy and slippery. No fun. :)

I have construction going on next door to me. Started in the spring, building a new house, the noise of the machines can drive a woman mad at times.
I will happily hop a ride with you next time you go to England! Thanks for the very sweet comment on my Paris post.
Blessings~
