To The Windy City....

Just a few hours and up and away I'll go.......and before I know it......I'll be right back and sitting at work again...but let's not think about that now....instead let's talk about this...

I went out to dinner & the movies with two friends this week....a great movie....one that will really leaving you thinking...

we went to see The Help...yes, I know this has been playing for awhile now but I don't get out much and we were all glad it's still showing.

It was a really good movie - not a "chick flick", I told Man In Black that when it's on Netflix I'd like to see it again....

I'm still knitting....round and round and round....it's going on the plane with me (I'm not showing Mom until it's completed) and I should have it finished to leave with her for the rest of her visit - wouldn't you know that I'm flying across the country and the weather there will be in the high 70's? When I land back at home it's forecast to be in the low 90's....where does one go to get cool Fall weather?

It will be perfect regardless...I love this little town I'm traveling to and it's all going to be spent with loved ones..it doesn't get any better than that.

I'm also hoofing it to a great little yarn shop down town about an hour after I land - I need more yarn like I need another hole in my head but I'm sure I'll find a new pattern or two - I'll share with you whatever my discovery is.

Here's the vest...the yarn....beyond awesome to knit on...

Noro Kochoran, a blend of wool, angora and silk.

I hope Mom will like it...I'll have her model the finished project so you can see the end result - the buttons.... beautiful shells.

Time to start the day - have I packed yet? Nope - it's weird but since Man In Black and I had that experience of the walk down Hell's Road with cancer....I seem to live in the Hour, the trip is still hours away so it doesn't seem "ready" yet to begin the packing. I doubt the pilot will wait on me if I'm late to the airport with that reasoning. I know since I'm traveling with Mom who's been packed and ready for the last two weeks would take comfort in knowing I'm ready too....I'll be ready - camera, knitting, change of clothes - it's all good.

Enjoy your day...I'll see you soon.

I love the yarn...I can't wait to see it. Safe travels to you. If it's any consolation to you...we're to have temps here in the 80's, our cool fall weather is leaving us for a day or two.

Still warm here too! The only sign of fall is that it's getting darker earlier! :) Oh, I LOVE souvenir yarns! There can never be enough! The sweater is so pretty too, can't wait to see it on your Mom! Take care!! Happy & Safe travels!
