Sweet Treats From The Back Seat

A nice road trip is planned....

so I thought a few sweet treats for the car were in order.....

Key Lime Crinkles

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 tsp lime zest
2 tbsps. key lime juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 cups flour

preheat oven to 350 degrees
lightly grease baking sheet
cream butter and sugar until fluffy
add vanilla, eggs, zest and juice
blend in dry ingredients until just combined
roll in 1" - 2" balls.

bake for 8-10 minutes and allow to cool before removing to a wire rack..
mix powdered sugar in a bowl with key lime juice (1 cup sugar to 1/4 cup juice...there about)
to make a runny frosting...drizzle over the cookies as they cool.

we're off to a winery...the sun is out...it's perfectly warm....does it get any better???

while we drive...I'll be pondering my next car...the "beast" will be returning to it's original owners and it's time for this grandma to get a new set of wheels...I'm thinking a mini cooper, what'da think?
Grandpa has other ideas.....he's thinking practical.....Grandpa's are boring that way.
