fillin' my basket

after work I headed downtown on my bike to the farmer's market....

on the way home I was a grinning 54 year old peddling a basket stuffed full of goodies on the handlebars......with an oversized bouquet of sunflowers barely balanced on top....

still grinning as I looked behind me to see my best buddy peddling along with a jumbo sized bag of freshly popped kettle corn swinging from his fingers around the handlebar....oh such fun...

my favorite market purchase???? a scarf with silver looking charms...super cute..

we ran out of money long before we ran out of wanted purchases...not to worry...we'll be back next week

my glow bugs will be my
summertime kitchen night lights
these went up while the sunflowers
sat waiting....the setting sun won out

a solid green scarf with Brighten sized charms...on the ends too

a white summer dress is needed for this green scarf

I've had these battery lights for years now...
 I'm done saving them....
I put them in a box at Havasu and forgot about 'em
they'll be out all summer now

of course,,,there are some who wouldn't want bugs
in their kitchen

we got back home before dark....
the popcorn???
saving until tomorrow night's movie..
The Help...
man in black hasn't seen it yet....
it's a good movie...

homegrown honey...
and george clooney cheese spread...spicy
not sure what that has to do with george

seems I focused on everything but the forefront
strawberries n cilantro...
I saw a recipe over at soule mama
n' she had recipe that will work for
the cinco de mayo weekend

$20.00.....
a bargain in my book
breads, cheeses, hot sauce, and more flowers will fill next weeks basket...

enjoy your friday.... I'd hoped to have the baby blanket finished but it's turning into a sized
blanket for a five year old...I'll show you soon because I want it done and move on....

while peddling home....I realized I need a poncho...to wear while on my bike...
because every 54 year old bike rider with a basket should have a poncho...

that'll be after I knit Zoe her one year old blanket....but my mind is already thinking of stripes...

for my poncho...

Farmer's market sounds fun! Oh yes, a white dress would go with a green shawl or anything for that matter :) Come to think of it, I haven't had a white dress in years - time to hunt for one!
You must be knitting like the wind, I thought you just started the blanket? Looking forward to seeing what you've done with that snuggly yarn.
Oh I can't get over the fact that you live near D'land!!!
Have a great summer weekend!

A poncho like we had back in the 70's? What great fun! Don't forget the fringe along the bottom and the pom poms on the ends of the strings!

I have to admit, when I saw the first picture, I only saw the lit up portion and wondered just what in the heck kind of lights those were...

I think you must live the most relaxing wonderful life ever. I want to be you.

I absolutely loved your description of your bike ride home and how you felt peddling along with all your loot! Priceless ~
