April.... Spring.....Earth...

I thought the straw hat I bought included the pretty scarf attached to the hat like a fancy bee keepers bonnet...

and since I usually run from any insect that has a buzz...

I thought it sounded like a plan for summertime gardening...

at least I'll look pretty while I run.....

I found the pattern for the cape I made for Zoe from this book...Knit 2 Together...

if you think you'd like to give the pattern a try...I recommend the book...

a fun read and filled with nice patterns...

if you don't want to buy the book but want the pattern..

leave me a comment and I'll tell a little bird to drop you a line .....

since today is Earth Day...

I thought I'd bake some banana nut muffins to enjoy along with Leah's homemade Kale chips...

her recipe feels more "earthy" ...

mine came out of a cardboard box...

I'll recycle it...that's "earthy"...

soon we'll be "earthy" camping again...

I'll keep you posted as the time gets closer...I'll ask Leah when she gets home how she made the chips...

I'm turning into a huge Kale fan, so would love her recipe. I do mine in the oven with some olive oil and sea salt, so easy!

Those capes are adorable! I wish us old birds could get away with wearing them!

We eat a lot of kale (usually stir-fried) in my part of the woods, but this is the first time I've heard of Kale chips. Hmmm ... will it entice my kids to eat more veg if I disguise it as a chip? By the way how is it done? And more importantly, if I want to sell it to my kids, does it taste sinful or healthy? :)
