peep...peep...peep

on a whim late thursday evening I looked to Craig's List for "chickens"....

I'd already picked the variety, number and colored eggs I'd be filling my egg basket with inside my head as I played out a fantasy wish for a small flock of birds of my own.....

"delivered to Orange County Friday"....

over a dozen different beautiful (oh too many all with wonderful colors and traits) were listed...

days old....or....weeks old.....all promised to be as wonderful in person as the colored photos and extensive descriptions...

I looked at the clock sitting near my opened laptop....

nearly 10;00 p.m.

the cutoff time to order.....4;00 p.m.

Steve hadn't exactly said "No".... he said...."I don't want to take care of anymore animals"....

I promised I'd do everything and raced to the bedroom while he continued watching "Glee"....

I never liked that t.v. show but "Glee" was what I was feeling....

leaving an email with fingers crossed someone would see my order, I shut the laptop and waited...

hoping....decorating in my mind the chicken run and coop that may fill the desire for barnyard birds...

in the morning a text was received.... "no problem, see you after 5:00 p.m."

my chickens were on their way down the coast from Santa Barbara.....

there's so much more to share but I'm frustrated beyond description at the moment....

the power company came on Friday to replace the old power pole at the back of the property...

and since Edison are all about themselves and their poles....they didn't think a thing about clipping the cable line from my internet provider....it shares "their pole" and they didn't bother to reattach it...

after waiting for a repairman on Saturday.....he came...he stayed...he worked...he said "it's all good"

he left.....

and.....

no internet connection to my laptops in the house...

this desktop I'm using ?????
 slow and locks up and won't upload photos unless I can sit and wait until my next birthday
 (I just celebrated my birthday yesterday..... 56 years old....goodness, how did that happen so fast???) 

.....hang on....don't give up.....the chicks are here and as cute as fuzzy little peepers could be....

help will arrive to correct the connection and I'll be sharing and posting pics of my new feathered friends by the weekend......

and the yard where they'll live.... you should see the "before" photos to fully appreciate my game plan if I can make it all happen...
