there are special ways to spend my time...
this is one of my favorites...
it's one of those activities that gets tucked away...
a memory back into the corners of our minds...
years pass and we grow forgetting the moments...
decades later the memories bring comfort...
the smell of baking....
triggers a thought...
a smile...
a longing heart...
a lost memory that wasn't lost after all...

time with Nana and Zoe's lesson on the art of baking...
one day I will be gone...
but this time together, this peanut butter cookie baking, she will remember with love...
I love you Zoe...to the moon and back countless times forever...

using her pumpkin cheese knife is her favorite way to slice butter...

Nana's juice glass works best when smashing down the dough...

Zoe has the two times with the fork down perfectly

well done my beautiful baby .....I am so proud of you

you said "hurry Nana, they're heavy"

and my most favorite part of this baking experience...?
we have matching aprons and your feet were cold...
so we put on a pair of Nana's socks...
you laughed and said "no, they'll be too big"...
and to your delight....
they fit

let's bake again soon Zoe...
it's almost time for Valentine's Day...
it's time to bring out the cookie cutters....
