let's talk...or in this case...I'll type and you read...

for a few brief hours the weather changed here...cooler....heavenly cooler....

my relatives recently left and returned to Chicago talking about what a bummer it would be after enjoying our 80+ degree days...

honestly, I wish they could take it with them...

I have lived here in Southern California as long as I can possibly remember....

and our weather is changing...rapidly changing from what it was a few short years ago...

and I'm finding it troubling...

why?....because I have a lifetime supply of yarn....

in every room of the house....

since I don't own a mountain cabin...or beachfront property...

where does one wear alpaca or wool when it's 80+ degrees outside?

moving to Door County Wisconsin will never happen...for reasons other than the weather...

Glen Ellyn Illinois is off the list...for one major partner it was never on the list...
and for me....it's lost all it's appeal...100%...and I'm totally fine with that....
what once was a place of quaint small town has turned into keeping up with the Jones....

and Portland Oregon, was 1000% too crowded...
don't ever think we have traffic here near L.A. if you haven't visited Portland...
returning home our streets seems quiet.....and wide...
maybe it was all the transplants from Southern California that left 15 years ago that I saw up there?

so here's the problem...or solution really...

I've made the commitment to knit my beautiful fibers...into cardigans, scarfs, hats, etc...

and camp where the weather forecast fits the outfit...

this idea pleases hubby, puts to an end the chatter about moving away to some place cooler...

and also opens the door for a road trip..... when should I tell him I want to camp in Maine?

actually, this is going to be easy ...

the Pacific Northwest is our first destination...back to my birth place....Seattle Washington....

as much as I love a good road trip...Maine is a stretch...

the California redwoods....to the Oregon Coastline...and on up to Bainbridge Island....

perfect for the Shetland lace shawl..... one minor detail....

the trailer is still in forty pieces.....

there is no need to go to Maine when you can go see the northern coast and visit the redwoods. I am like you, living in hot and humid Florida yet knitting with wool. I won't stop knitting sweaters, I may only wear them once a year, but I love them and it makes me happy.
Hugs,
Meredith

So I learn something new about you, I always assumed forsome reason you were born in the Midwest, and now I find out it was Seattle WA. Strange to see we were born about as far apart as we could be in the United States, Tampa and Seattle, and yet our lives run so parallel. I think this must be one reason for the knitting. Look up the temperature on the November day and I bet it was cold the day you were born....so all the scarves, sweaters, gloves make perfect sense!
