this blog space has been quiet lately..
not because I've had a lack of information to share...
more like a lack of time to write it down

my knitting has been ongoing...
which for me?  is huge

I packed up several skeins and took a road trip to the lake, finishing a scarf and casting on a shawl..
week day lunch hours have been a few degrees cooler for afternoon knitting...

and since hubby has the television shows on that don't appeal to me that makes for evening knitting listening to podcasts perfect!!

overall, it's progress

the hat?
a simple knit, purl edge with knitting following for several inches...with a pocket added for a bit of "extra"...I had a leftover toy train coin that has written "good for one train ride"...hubby made a small hole and it became the perfect button for the cap

the scarf will be mailed off to a cousin living East where's it's cold..."white death" as she describes the winter months ahead

I spent hours (more like months if I was telling the truth) about living in Alaska or anywhere the weather would promise frost to escape the heat and dryness of Southern California

then I took that road trip to the lake...and on the way I stopped at a rest stop to let the dogs have a potty break..
opening the car door the chilly air filled cab and I was reminded...I don't like to be cold.

so a box full of hand knits for the folks back East...
and super fun hand knit sweaters for me to wear while camping, beach walking and weekend trips to the lake, this girl will stay put right here in sunny Southern California

I've run short on yarn to finish the shawl the way the pattern is written...so I'll adjust the pattern!
a scarf, shawlette and hat yarns waiting in a wooden bowl to be cast on,

all my crafting items up high (anything over 24" works) just out of reach from the mouth of a very tiny puppy...

my shoes?..never found in the same place or together...
maybe one of these days I'll actually put them away where they belong

enjoy your day...
there's so much more to post...
and the clock tells me there's so little time to finish before I head out the door..

time:

look who's as big as the gas pedal now...

photos on an evening not far from home...
a package gift to myself arriving in the mail...
preparations for another camping trip where the anxiety has already begun...
all this and more I'll share with you soon..

we drove out of the desert back home ending the weekend...
wishing you all a great week ahead...

happy knitting!!
