He's a Keeper

Happy Valentine's Day to all my blogging buddies.....since I'm unable to give each of you a special Valentine treat I've decided to share with you an unusual recipe of my Grandmothers and a personal favorite of my Mom's.

Potato Chips Cookies:

Cream together 1/2 pounds of butter (two sticks, and yes, I do use butter - this is not the recipe to count calories)
1 cup of sugar plus 2 tablespoons
yoke from one egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla

Mix in 1 1/2 cups of flour
1/2 cup of plain flavored potato chips (crushed inside a large plastic bag, I don't crush too fine because I like to see bits of the potato chip still intact baked into the cookie)
1/2 cups chopped pecans

Bake spoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet @ 350 degrees. Hope you enjoy them ...

While I was baking and cleaning and giving both dogs a bath Man In Black was busy in the garage - remember the wood he bought last weekend at Home Depot???? Well, I asked for a new shelf in the kitchen and viola....he delivered.
I don't think I need to tell you who my Valentine has been for the past 32 years. Within five minutes after he stepped off the chair I was piling stuff on the shelf, he walked back in and said "I thought you were going to use it for something?" I said "I did, to hold more stuff". Now I'm hoping he'll make another one for the other doorway.

I have too much stuff  and am hoping the children will one day say "oh, we have to have all this". If any of my kids are currently reading this I'm taking requests and will gladly grant your desire today and "this stuff" becomes yours:)

Wishing you a very happy Valentine's Day my friends!!!

That's cool that you can ask for shelves and Man in Black can get it done so professionally :)
I've never heard of potato chip cookies before but I love potato chips and cookies so I can imagine that it must be so yummy and literally to die for! I dare not imagine the calories though :) The other day my son was thinking of buying a Mars bar and he checked the calorie content and it had 1051 kilojoules. I'm not sure how many kilojoules make a calorie but just having a thousand was enough to scare him off (for the moment!)
And haha, I couldn't help laughing at granting your kids their desire to have your stuff. Every mother's dream. My mum is always asking me to come to her house and get some stuff that she wants to give me :)

Love the shelf and everything on it! And men that will hang shelves are keepers. Mine just went to IKEA, picked up a storage unit for me AND put it together. Oh, how the little things make life wonderful.
