Baby Girls n Grown Up Girls....

This week has brought with it an event in life that stands out as a moment in time....you know, when you can take that moment that's heart stopping, that catches your breath. That experience you can count on one hand that stands out all by themselves that have a special effect on your life as a whole. It's been that for me.

There's a song with lyrics that say "it's not the breathing in and out that matters in life, it's the moments that take your breath away",

We have our first grandchild.....she's a beauty. With the parents permission I'll post her picture for all my blogging buddies to see.

We never know what life will send our way.
I've always hoped that one day my children would want families of their own and they'd have someone special in their lives to share it with - and then you secretly dream of what your grandkids would be like, litte boy or girl? What special name they might pick to call you instead of the traditional "Grandma".....playing a game of checkers with Hershey's chocolate kisses so when you "jump" eachother and get "crowned" you get to eat the chocolate so by the time the game is over all the playing pieces are gone and in your tummy. Reading to them the childhood books being saved in the attic over the years from your own children - dusting off the Lincoln Logs and Legos.

Quite sometime back I bought this pattern, never knowing if I'd have a little granddaughter to knit it for......

I've been saving it and the yarns waiting to see....

The special times continue around here - today my own baby girl has a birthday.

She wasn't overly pleased I added "29" to the cake, but I know one day she'll look back and say "oh, to be 29 again!"
I don't add the year on every cake....just this one.

She's gone from teddy bears to tea parties to high heels. I've enjoyed every step of the way.....
We're having "lunch" together today - with a martini (she'll enjoy one anyway, I'll have to go back to work in the afternoon).
She's a beauty and all grown up - I dream of what her life has yet to bring her....I would love to post her picture but she's not a "blogger" and not interested in having her picture posted for all the world to see.

I'm sure the day won't end without a new pair of shoes for the birthday girl so I'll post what new heels she'll be wearing..:)

I can't wait to see Aunt Jac styling Baby Z's hair with ribbons and bows - I think there's going to be LOTS of hair to work with!!! They share the same month for birthdays - they'll be stubborn little "bulls" together - that will be quite a pair.

Have a great week everyone - I'm going to sit back and enjoy this moment in my life....it's one to be savored.
