did you join the Christmas Eve cast on?
did you intent to join Dani of Little Bobbins and all the others and never got around to it?
well, you're not alone...
let's aim for next year and hope we get them cast on before midnight instead of last minute wrapping!
it's been a very busy year over here at Lap Dog Knits...
a year that ended on extreme high notes....
a year going out like a lion....big...and loud...
the birth of Noa just days before Christmas -
the most precious of gifts and blessings
the joy and excitement we have for her... the absolute perfection to our lives
the days ticking by as she makes her place within the now family of four, the parents and big sister adjusting to less sleep, the grandparents waiting for the spoiling and cuddling to begin with the little head covered in thick hair, to the tiny toes that will one day zoom around in roller skates...
it is the best gift in life, to see your children.... again, through your grandchildren
our greatest of gifts in this world
plans for Lap Dog Knits 2018 are in place..
a new backyard construction project is 75% done, a space that will surely be filled by Lap Dog
a new washing machine took priority over a newly carpeted bedroom,
a new 2018 monthly planner has recent entries, notes and ideas...
but the knitting....
oh the knitting...
the list is long...
the bar has been set high for 2018...
the front porch mail box will soon be full with my last of December purchases arriving....
my final yarn goodness to arrive ...
bringing to an end the growing stash and frequent purchasing....
and the beginning of a year ahead filled with the most desirable projects and knit worthy folks who may (or may not - in case I need to adjust my big knitting plans if Summer is a scorcher) find themselves unwrapping handmade treasures next December...
so many changes are coming in 2018, all in the best possible way...
even the chickens have a fun filled year ahead to look forward to... perhaps a stroller for walking at the farmers market?
you know you have small dogs when they can drink out of a pair of goggles - they are just the right size to stuff in your jacket when it's cold outside too!
wishing you all a wonderful beginning to your new year,
check back to see what's in the mailbox....just in case you haven't put a lid on your shopping and stash building yet...
while baby Noa rests and parents try too as well, Nana will prepare her new space where Zoe has already described our future parties, in a way only six year olds can...with great excitement and anticipation...
hello new year, I do hope you are ready for us...because we have high hopes and big dreams...
it's all so good....
and it's only just begun...
